Features: Transparent dressing allows for wound monitoring without changing the dressing. No dressing breakdown in the wound. Clear design takes the guesswork out of application over the wound. Low friction surface minimizes potential for friction and shear. Novel acrylic polymer pad technology designed to handle low to moderate wound drainage. The transparent dressing provides a barrier to external contaminants, body fluids, bacteria and viruses. Hypoallergenic and latex-free. Waterproof. Specification: Overall Dressing Size: 14.9 x 15.2 cm Absorbent Pad Size: 9.8 x 10.1 cm Dressing Application: Hold the dressing by a tab and peel the liner from the dressing, exposing the adhesive surface. Hold the dressing by the tabs and centre the dressing over the wound, adhesive side down. Avoid stretching the dressing. Gently press the dressing in place, smoothing from the centre outward. Slowly remove the paper frame while pressing down and smoothing the film border to ensure good adhesion. Removal Technique: Carefully lift the film edges from the skin always supporting the underlying skin. If there is difficulty lifting the dressing, apply tape to the edge and use tape to lift. For surgical incisions with incision closures such as adhesive wound closure strips, sutures, or staples provide extra caution to avoid removal of these closure devices. Continue lifting the film until all edges are free from the skin surface. Remove the dressing slowly, folding it over itself always supporting the underlying skin. Pull carefully in the direction of the hair growth. Useful Tips: The acrylic pad is not intended to be cut. If needed, the film border may be trimmed before the paper frame is removed. There is no stated wear time for the dressing. The dressing should be changed if it is leaking, lifting off, or if there is wound fluid under the adhesive border. Evaluate the wound and select the correct dressing size so that 1 cm (3/8 inch) of the absorbent pad extends beyond the wound edge. Smooth the border down as you gently peel off the outer paper frame of the dressing. The crackling appearance of the absorbent pad will not affect the performance of the dressing. The dressing pad may appear to bubble up at times. This will flatten down as it releases some of the moisture vapour. If this does not flatten out, it may be time to change the dressing. You may overlap two dressings if necessary to cover large and/or multiple areas of skin damage. This dressing can also be used as a secondary (cover) dressing over wound fillers, such as alginate dressings. If using a wound filler, the dressing change is determined by the filler used. For dressing removal, grasp one edge of the dressing and gently pull it straight out to stretch it and release adhesion. If having difficulty lifting film edge, apply a piece of tape to the film and gently lift. Apply 3M Cavilon No Sting Barrier Film to protect peri-wound skin. *This product image is only for reference.
