Cosmopor transparent is a self-adhesive, transparent film dressing made of a semi-permeable, waterproof, and transparent polyurethane film coated with a polyacrylate adhesive and has an absorbent wound pad in the middle. The wound pad is made of viscose fibres and covered with a polyethylene mesh which acts as a non-adhering wound contact layer. Properties: The wound pad absorbs exudate and does not adhere to the wound. The semi-permeable polyurethane film is coated with an adhesive. The film facilitates the free passage of water vapour and gases and it is waterproof. Intended use: Cosmopor transparent is a non-invasive, single-use, self-adhesive, transparent film dressing. It is intended to be used in a sterile condition by healthcare professionals and lay persons in humans for post-operative care of slightly exuding wounds, for protection against bacterial penetration and as a dressing for minor injuries. The device can remain in situ for up to 5 days. However, medical assessment of the wound condition is recommended to determine when the dressing needs to be changed. A new device can be applied immediately. The total wear time should not exceed 30 days. Indications: Cosmopor transparent can be used for post-operative care of slightly exuding wounds, for protection against bacterial penetration and as a dressing for minor injuries. Contraindications: Cosmopor transparent must not be used on clinically infected, highly bleeding or exudative wounds or for pressure ulcers. Mode of application (see pictograms I-IV): Clean the application area thoroughly and ensure that the skin is dry and free from creams and ointments. Hairy skin areas should be shaved before applying Cosmopor transparent. (I) Open the peel pouch and take out the dressing. Cosmopor transparent is protected by 4 covers, numbered 1 to 4 in the order of application. Slightly remove the protective covers 1 and 2, then (II) place the Cosmopor transparent adhesive side with the wound pad on the wound, making sure the wound pad overlaps the wound completely. Fully remove the protective covers 1 and 2, gently press the entire film onto the skin, conforming it to the body contours. (III) Remove the protective cover 3, (IV) then remove the protective cover 4 and gently press it to the skin. Cosmopor transparent can be removed almost painlessly by overstretching the material. To do this, loosen an edge and carefully take off the dressing by overstretching it. Side effects: Adverse reactions may occur in patients who are allergic or hypersensitive to acrylic adhesives. Product disposal: In order to minimize the risk of potential infection hazards, or environmental pollution, disposable components of the medical device should follow disposal procedures according to applicable and local laws, rules, regulations and infection prevention standards. Dispose of the medical device with household waste. *This product image is only for reference.
