Description 1963 Corvette Restored Buzzer Tachometer 6500 Redline Restored original 1963 Corvette buzzer, or alarm, tachometer. Rebuilt, calibrated, and ready to go. Correct for 340 and 360 horsepower equipped cars produced to approximately February 1963. This tachometer had a printed circuit and special speed cup. Intended to sound a buzzer at redline, these units were not only prone to failure, it was nearly impossible to hear the buzzer at full redline. Sometime in mid January of 1963 St. Louis stopped installing the buzzer and wiring. These tachometers continued to be installed on the assembly line without the buzzer as supplies were exhausted.
